Intimate Nuptials in Napa Valley

I should probably just go ahead and apologize to the groom behind this next wedding. Because while he is incredibly handsome and I’m sure quite lovely, I can’t take my eyes off his bride. Her stunning smile, her relaxed boho chic vibe, her glow that every bride sort of craves. All captured perfectly by Caroline Yoon. And there is so much more of her – and their lovely wedding – right here in the gallery.

From Caroline Yoon Fine Art PhotographyStephanie and Brian’s intimate and elegant wedding was nothing short of perfection. They were wed surrounded by their closest friends and family at a private residence in Napa Valley, California. Their wedding day was truly a collaboration of talented friends and family who offered up their talents for the florals, the wedding cake, and many other thoughtful details. It was a beautiful, honest, and heartfelt wedding, and I feel special to have been a part of it.

Garden Ranch Malibu Wedding

When I heard this bride’s wedding design was inspired the Twilight wedding scene, I raced to Youtube and to watch it for myself (with a full movie viewing following that night, obviously.) And thanks to the beautiful work of Grace SongThe Butter End Cakery and Butterfly Floral, I’d say “mission accomplished.” See every moment in the gallery from AndySeo Studio.

From the Bride.. It was a typical late night after work on 2010 when I first met Zoo, now my husband. I was working as a chef at London West Hollywood hotel, and after cooking for exhausting 10 hours, my co-worker and I could not help the late night munchies. Usually, this late night munchies are evil, but I say this one was the opposite since it led me to meet my husband, who was a good friend of my co-worker and was fighting the munchies just like us! My co-worker called Zoo out and we ended up having drinks/snacks together. In fact, nothing happened that night. I only remember the meal was just good and Zoo was wearing a red beanie, which I was like, ‘what the…’. No one, even my co-worker, this night would be the beginning of everything. We didn’t know why, but we found we hung out each other more often since that accidental, but destined night.

Our love started growing somewhere in our heart.I became his fiance on the night of Christmas eve. He decorated his room with an arch and light balls, and kneeled down with a little tears. Sure, he recorded everything with his ‘hidden’ video camcorder. We had about a year and a half engagement to have enough time for the one and only wedding prep!

I am a huge fan of Disney since I was a child, so I always wanted to have my wedding like the ones in fairytales. One day, I got to see the movie, ‘Twilight’ wedding scenes, and that was it! Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA was a just perfect outdoor venue with rustic barn aura and so much trees and plants. Especially, we loved and picked Ranch House since it also gave us much room to decorate to my exactly wanted theme.

Our wedding planner, Grace Song (CEO of Charis event & Design), there is no way our wedding could have been the spectacular day it was without her. It is not just the organization, it is the consultation and conversations prior that relieved my stress and helped me prepare for the day. She had ideas that elevated mine. We need someone like Grace to rein it all in, and figure out the details that your brain could not comprehend. She is the expert, and it shows. Nothing seems to faze her. We are truly blessed to have her as our coordinator for our wedding. And our photographer, Andy Seo Photography, one of the best decision we made for our wedding. We cannot say enough great things about Andy and his photography team.

Many thanks to other vendors that we had for our wedding, and also embrace every minutes of your special day because it goes by unbelievably quickly. If you hire great people, they will make your day is so special and that you get to enjoy every single moment.

From Emily, the Bride… Our wedding planning started with a few themes: simple, rustic, and fun! As the big day approached, with the help of fabulous vendors, we were able to stay true to those themes and create an unforgettable atmosphere. The Green Farm Barn at Chatfield Botanic Gardens guarantees an adorable setting. From the beautiful market lighting over the porch outside the barn where we had our ceremony, to the cozy wooden and well-lit interior for the reception, this venue matched my vision perfectly.

Since the venue shines so brightly on its own, we were able to keep our decorations very simple. For the reception tables, our wonderful florist created arrangements in square wooden boxes mixed with a variety of mason jars and unique vases holding flowers and candles. Most of the vases were thrift shop finds throughout wedding planning! I created our table numbers, escort card frame, cake stands, and card box.

Beach Resort

From Belle Destination Weddings And EventsOh the romance! Jenni (an Orange County native) & Evan (from Kanasas City) first met each other when they both moved into the same building in Denver, CO in the summer of 2007. Introduced by the concierge the first week they lived in the building, the two became fast friends and it was only a matter of time before these two love birds became an item. Jenni describes it perfectly, “It was meant to be!” After dating for 5 years, Evan took Jenni on holiday to their favorite place, the gorgeous island of Maui, in November of 2012. During an early morning walk on a secluded beach, Evan got down (knee in the sand) and proposed. Jenni describes the moment as “intimate and romantic,” becoming the inspiration for their actual wedding event.

The planning then began almost immediately, being inspired by different elements of the island during their stay on Maui. While walking through the lobby of their hotel, they heard 2 different musicians performing, almost setting a soundtrack for these special moments. They later requested those same two musicians, Jamie Lawrence & Clay Mortenson, who were hired on to perform for their ceremony and reception. The music re-created those amazing memories for the couple.

Haiku Mill seemed like the obvious choice for Jenni and Evan. “It was the perfect venue for our small destination wedding of 30 guests. The Mill was more representative of Evan & I than a sandy beach wedding.” Jenni proclaimed. “Walking into the Mill (on the wedding day) for the first time literally took my breath away. Seeing our vision come to life was overwhelming. It exceeded all expectations.”

The Mill complimented the formal setting that the two was seeking. They wanted the relaxing element of a destination wedding without giving up the formality of this very special event. The week was full of enjoyable events for the couple and their guests, which included an adventurous snorkel cruise charter, as well as an intimate gathering for their rehearsal dinner at Merriman’s Kapalua. This time spent with their closest friends and family prior to the wedding allowed them to catch up with their guests and truly relax and enjoy each other on the day of the wedding.

The bride stunned her groom into silence when her first laid eyes on her walking down the aisle with her father. Fitted in a lace and ruffled Vera Wang gown, Jenni’s smile was one of joy as she walked towards her groom to be. Evan stood stunned, tears falling, as his beautiful bride approached him. It was a magical moment that we wedding planners live for! It was as if it was out of a movie.

From the bride… We could not have been luckier to work with the “best,” most talented vendors throughout our wedding planning process. With very high standards for our planning team, we were not disappointed. Jane Park led the way and ensured we were surrounded by a very honest, dependable wedding team (e.g. Maui Mira, Jamie Lawrence, Clay Mortensen, Teresa Sena Designs, Maui Executive Catering, Haiku Mill, Miss B Calligraphy, Tamiz Photography, Tino Rosete, and Signature Maui). The execution was flawless.

Our vision was a mix of soft romantic shades of crème and peach combined with the glamour of crystal and sparkly metallics. Hawaiian elements were intertwined throughout the ceremony from the traditional Hawaiian blessing to the sounds of Jaime Lawrence’s unforgettable voice. Personalization down to every detail was very important to Evan & I. Our stationary designer, Rachelle Schwartz (of Wiley Valentine), played such an important role in designing our wedding “palm theme.” Additionally, she designed our coordinating menus, take-home cake boxes, signage, guest book, napkins, restroom towels, straw flags, and passed appetizer signs. Teresa Sena Designs embraced our vision and set the stage for an evening of romance and intimacy for our guests. Surrounded by flawless beauty at the Haiku Mill, our guests were in awe!
